I remember the first time I had creme brûlée.

it changed everything -

i’ve done a million things since i was a 10 year old sitting in an out of place bistro in West Texas that would eventually become an HEB.

BUT I WILL BORE YOU WITH how i always come back to that moment. that cold silver spoon cracking through that simple sugar crust - sinking into that luxurious uncharted custard.

i remember the corners of my mouth turning up and my eyes brightening to 120 lumens.

it was a revelation.
